N1 MOON ROCKET



This one of the Soviet rockets intended to place a cosmonaut
on the Moon. It is the equivalent of our Saturn V.



SOVIET LUNAR MODULE



This is a prototype of the Soviet lunar module. It was to have been piloted
by Aleksei Leonov, who has signed this photo.



COVER FLOWN ON MIR



Just moments before the fire broke out aboard MIR on February 23, 1997, cosmonaut
Aleksandr Kaleri was imprinting a small stack of covers with the MIR postmark.
This is one of those covers (see page 123 of "Dragonfly").

VALERIY POLYAKOV



This is a photo of cosmonaut Valeriy Polyakov who has the record for a long
duration flight of 438 days. This photo flew over 180 million miles during those
438 days with him aboard MIR. Polyakov has another mission of 241 days.
