Just moments before the fire broke out aboard MIR on February 23, 1997, cosmonaut Aleksandr Kaleri was imprinting a small stack of covers with the MIR postmark. This is one of those covers (see page 123 of "Dragonfly"). This cover is signed by all on board during the fire. This is a photo of cosmonaut Valeriy Polyakov who has the record for a long duration flight of 438 days. This photo flew over 180 million miles during those 438 days with him aboard MIR. Polyakov has another mission of 241 days. |
